CAPIROTA - documentary -
Capirota is a documentary project that brings to light the forgotten story of Carmen Pesqueira Domínguez, known locally in Marín (Pontevedra) as “A Capirota.” She was executed by Falangist forces in 1939, a victim of the brutal repression inflicted on civilians during the Spanish Civil War and the Francoist dictatorship. The piece combines historical research with AI-generated visual recreations, offering a symbolic reconstruction of the character and her surroundings. Rather than aiming for literal representation, these images serve as a visual reflection and act of remembrance. Capirota is both a tribute to silenced victims and a call to preserve historical memory through new audiovisual languages.
