This year, I had the privilege of contributing to the documentary series about the life of Rosendo Salvado, directed by Valentín Carrera for Televisión de Galicia and the Consello da Cultura Galega. What makes this series special? Across its four episodes, filmed between Australia and Galicia, historical narrative is blended with technological innovation: Visual recreations were created using artificial intelligence, including the first AI-generated image of Rosendo Salvado. Who was Rosendo Salvado? Considered the first truly global Galician in history, Salvado was much more than an explorer. He was a musician, anthropologist, and a strong advocate for equality and human rights, leaving a lasting legacy in both Galicia and Australia. The AI-generated video content was created based on historical photographs of Rosendo Salvado and extensive documentation from the period.
